Neurodiverse Couples Therapy in Springwood

Neurodivergent couples experience unique challenges. When one or both partners are neurodivergent, relationship dynamics can sometimes feel confusing or frustrating for both people. A lot of neurodiverse couples have tried traditional couples therapy and report that it was unhelpful and sometimes damaging.

Neurodiverse couples therapy requires specialised training and an understanding that “neurology matters”. Differences in communication styles, emotional expression, sensory needs, and ways of processing information can easily lead to misunderstandings. Therapy focuses on helping partners understand these differences and develop ways of communicating and connecting that work for both individuals.

At Life in Colour we explore:

  • different communication styles and needs
  • sensory and emotional regulation differences
  • ways to reduce misunderstandings and conflict
  • strategies for supporting each other more effectively
  • identifying and understanding the impacts of trauma

The goal is not to change who either partner is, but to create a relationship where both people feel understood, respected, and supported.

Session length is 60 minutes however please let us know if you would like to arrange longer intensive sessions (90 mins – 2 hours).
