More about Monique
What are three strengths you have as a Counsellor?
I am a relational therapist at heart with the ability to connect deeply with my client’s, building rapport and understanding early to form a strong therapeutic relationship. I have a knack for understanding complex relationship patterns and identifying the hidden emotions underlying behavioral patterns. I always know when to empathically challenge and push my clients and when to hold back and focus on emotional grounding, safety and stability.
How many years counselling experience do you have?
Over 15 years.
What is the most satisfying and fulfilling part of the work you do?
I love the feeling when you are in session with a client and they are doing the work and they have one of those “ah-ha” moments. You and your client are both so in-sinc and you get the feeling that this client was meant to land in your room, at this time, to have this break-through. The ability to support people in their personal growth and witness couples who put in the work and re-build their relationships is such a glimmer in my life and I am so lucky to do the work that I do. My favorite clients are pre-marital clients who are investing not only in their wedding day, but in their marriage and long-term happiness.
